Kitchen Counters...

It seems like we've been bouncing around from major project to major project.  Our goal (partly to protect sanity and budget) is to complete one thing before launching into another.  Otherwise, we might end up with an entire house with everything only 40% completed.  With the basement project nearly completion (actually, we just finished the baseboard installation this weekend, so it's been declared complete enough to move on), we're really launching into the kitchen overhaul.  Things are being torn out and smashed, paint colours are being debated, and a wall is definitely going.  This past weekend, we bought a sink and faucet (totally painless decisions.  Sometimes only having a few options is really helpful) and made great progress on the new counters.  Going the natural stone route is going to be a real investment but man... when a contemporary sculptor takes you around a stone yard and helps you see the beauty in what the earth can create, how can a manmade material even compare?!

There's a lot, but so far, we're both madly in love with this slab, and all signs point to it becoming the future star of our kitchen.  Fingers crossed!
