Dream House
The title of this post might be misleading. Our current, amazingly lovely house is my dream house. It's my dream house for a lot of reasons, but one is definitely because it's Mid-Century Modern. I've had a longterm fascination with the period and have always wanted the opportunity to update a true MCM gem. Ours is far from a time trap but there's still lots of opportunity to modernize. It got me thinking though - where did this fascination come from? And then I remembered that day in Intro to Art History class where I first learned...
... of The Farnsworth House. If I ever get the chance to build my own house, it would have to be built in the spirit of Mies van der Rohe and this amazing house.
