Kitchen Planning.

After thinking things over for almost a year, we've fully embraced the idea of doing some real demolition. One of those kitchen walls is becoming a thing of the past in favour of a more open kitchen-dining space. We already know that it's not load-bearing too, so it's totally do-able!
In the interest of using what already works, we aren't planning on too many footprint changes. The cabinets are great and really just need paint and new hardware. Before we moved in, we cleaned and painted the insides of the cabinets bright white (a major improvement over the mix of raw wood and high gloss yellow!) and will make other changes to them down the road. Some of the cabinets are going to get re-purposed or completely removed, so we didn't waste any time on those.
I'll update more with sketches, ideas for hardware, lighting and more, but for now all I can think about is dramatically transforming overall feel of the room by painting those cabinets. If only we could agree on a colour....
